Frank Ryan's return to epic fantasy

Qwenqwo Cuatzel, Dwarf-Mage of the Fir Bolg

Swift is delighted to announce that The Snowmelt River is the John West Chosen book for 2010. Frank Ryan will be working closely with our sponsor throughout Ireland to promote writing skills as part of an exciting and fun exercise that will engage with schools and the general public.  Details of the fantasy short story competition will be announced very soon.

The idea will be to encourage the participation of teenagers who wouldn't normally consider themselves any good at writing.  The competition will be free to enter and there will be no losers, since everybody who competes will be given a free first edition copy of The Snowmelt River, courtesy of John West in Ireland.  More details will be posted over the next few weeks on this site as well as two supporting sites under construction.

The renowned artist, Mark Salwowski, is currently working on the cover artwork as well as drawing a series of vignettes of the entertaining and beguiling characters that people the fantasy series, including Granny Dew, Ainé, the Kyra of the Shee, Qwenqwo Cuatzel, the Mage-Lord of the Fir Bolg, Alan, Kate, Mark and Little Mo, Garg warriors and, of course, the Temple Ship.  These will illuminate the pages of a dedicated website currently under construction.

More information will be posted on this website as the exciting events unfold.  Several hundred readers of Frank's previous fantasy have been in touch with him asking for new fantasy.  If you are one of these, or if you would like to be informed when the book is available, feel free to make contact through the contact page or directly to mail@swiftpublishers.com.
